How your school can create new back-end business opportunities, while helping your students improve their English, get the most out of the classes you offer, and enjoy it a whole lot more!

Every student attending English classes these days has one goal in mind: to learn English as well, and as quickly, as possible.

Every language school has two goals in mind: 1) to make money, and  2) to do so by serving the language needs of its clients as well as possible. After all, good service means more pupils, and for a longer time!

Yet both student and school are faced with problems...

     -  Students often have a hard time choosing which school to attend, for after all, don't they all offer more
or less the same thing? Thus, they often choose the one with the lowest prices, which is not
        necessarily the best school around!

     -  In addition, students are faced with a problem very similar to the one they encountered in high school:
        the
classes are taught in a specific way, and the needs of the individual pupils often are ignored, the
teacher having to gear his activity to the needs of the entire class, not of a single person.

The problems of schools are no less daunting...

     - How can you keep up with the ever-growing competition? And might it be possible to get the edge

over that competition? How could you convince potential clients to choose your school, and not the
competition's? And how can you keep your pupils longer, by keeping them interested in what your school
       has to offer them?

     - What can you do to give your pupils more than the others do.. to help them learn even better and
faster, and  to provide entertaining activities that would have them talking about you and your school to
their friends, thus providing you with free publicity?

The following is a thought that might scare the owner of any language school...

The secret to a student's learning success - and therefore, to the continued success of your business - does not ultimately lie in your methods, nor in the teachers you have, nor in the books you use...

The ultimate key to learning success lies in the mind of the student, and nowhere else!

Now, before you think I'm some kind of anarchist, or an enemy of schools, or just plain crazy, let me say that I have been teaching English successfully for over thirty years, and know whereof I speak. And if you carefully read the above bold-text sentence once again, you will see that I did NOT say that schools are useless, or that one method is not better than another.

A good school, excellent teachers, and a proven method are extremely important for learning a language, and I'm sure that you are doing your very best to maintain the highest standards of instructional quality at your school. The "key word" here is "ultimate"...

"The ultimate key to language-learning success lies in the mind of the student!"

For instance: what good does even the finest, most well-conceived language learning method do, if...

     - a student gets bored easily, is too tired when class time comes around, is stressed out from work, from
other scholastic activities, or whatever, and is therefore unable to fully concentrate on the class?

     - a student has an inferior complex, and feels that "It's really hard for me to learn a foreign language."

     - he or she lacks the self-confidence to react positively in a class setting, and is therefore inhibited
       when it comes to speaking

     - a student lacks good study habits, and therefore falls behind the others after just a few weeks?

Of course, such problems aren't only the students'.... they affect you just as much, because if for any of the above reasons a pupils decides to stop attending your school, you lose a client. That's not only a loss of income, but potentially also of prestige: will the student who has quit say to his friends and acquaintances "I quit going to that school because I don't have good study habits, and was soon the worst in the class!"?   Isn't it much more likely they will say: "The classes there are really boring!" or something else that will put the blame on you and not on themselves?

Therefore, a variation of the above highlighted statement is equally true:

"The ultimate key to the success of a language school lies in the minds of its students!"

Now, suppose you could easily offer extra services to your clientele, that would help your students...

     - overcome fear, stress, worry, lack of confidence, thus making them able to learn better and
       faster

     - acquire excellent study habits, to further ensure success in their studies.

     - get them to enjoy learning English all the more

...and would therefore help you to...

     - keep the students you have for a longer time

     - attract new students to your school

     - remain in touch with students who have already quit, and increase your profits by making
        occasional  sales to them

     - create a "buzz" by getting people talking about the exceptional things your school does

     - give you the edge over your competition....

You can soon be doing all of this, and at no risk whatsoever!

How? Here is where I can help you...

When I started teaching English in Germany some 30 years ago, I soon became aware of how the mind of the pupil influenced his or her ability to acquire a new language. No, I don't necessarily mean a person's I.Q. The fact is, there are some people with high IQs who are not good at speaking a foreign language, whereas some others, of more modest intellectual ability, are soon having fluent conversations in their target language.

I soon realized that factors such as the inability to relax, nervousness, lack of self-confidence, susceptibility to stress, and above all, negative beliefs about one's own abilities ar e the major limiting factors where language learning is involved.

I therefore delved into the area of psychology, learning all I could about mental techniques and exercises that might alleviate these problems. Over the years, I shaped, developed and refined a number of these techniques, and used them successfully to help people...

     -  learn to speak in public in record time - even if they are naturally shy in such situations

     -  overcome fear of taking exams

     - develop useful study habits that enable them to progress more rapidly

     - improve their relationships with other people

     - and most importantly of all.. to be happier than they were before!

Not being able to reach as many people as I would have liked by giving individual classes, or by teaching in a typical classroom situation, a few years ago I began to give seminars and workshops on the areas mentioned, and on many others as well. These wo rkshops and seminars are designed to be of maximum practical value to the participants: while placing the emphasis on improving their ability to learn a new language, in actuality, the information the participants obtain can be used for self-improvement in any area of life.

Students who have reached an intermediate/advanced level of English comprehension love the opportunity to hear English spoken, especially when what they hear is of real use to them, and not just another "advanced English class". After all, everyone who learns English has the goal of using it in practical ways; they don't want to merely learn for the sake of learning.

The seminars and workshops I offer give them just that - they get the chance not only to hear English, spoken clearly, not too fast, and with occasional explanations of difficult vocabulary, or complicated grammatical structures - but above all, to LEARN how to use their minds more effectively, to build good habits, to become better not only in English, but in every area of their lives, to become more relaxed, fulfilled, and - dare I say it again - happy!

The knowledge I teach is drawn from psychology, philosophy, and of course, from over 30 years' experience in teaching and counselling.

By now, you are no doubt asking... "But what does this have to do with me, or with my school?"

   Please read on...

Having moved to Japan in March, and marrying here, I am looking for directors of language schools in order to create a joint venture that could be very lucrative for both of us.

     Here's how it would work...

- You offer my special seminars and workshops to the students in your database, and perhaps even include them in your other advertising.  These events could be held either at your school, or at another venue of your choosing.

- You and I jointly decide what price the participants should pay, and how we should split the profits.

- At every event, we will of course advertise for your school (since some of the participants will no doubt not yet be students at your school), yet we will also advertise the next seminar/workshop, thus ensuring that each event attains a maximum attendance.

Interested? Just give me a call, or drop me a line, and we can arrange to meet to discuss details, all at no obligation to you, of course!
